Defiant Ukrainians return to normal life in Russian-bombed city

DEFIANT Ukrainians bravely showed their determination to return to normal life after returning to their devastated city.
Residents of the northern town of Borodyanka — population 12,500 — found them reduced to rubble after their troops recaptured them from the Russians.

But those who had food to sell spread their wares out on sidewalks.
And others formed a huge line in the main square for humanitarian aid – including dog food for pet owners.
A father carried a child on his shoulders as they passed a battered monument, their flag flying proudly.
People began the mammoth task of clearing debris from the streets and searching ruined homes for souvenirs and belongings.


Families report that civilians who stayed behind during the initial attacks were murdered and raped.
Officials fear the Russians may have committed worse atrocities than in Bucha, where bodies were found in the street and a mass grave was discovered.
Ten Russian soldiers have been identified by Ukrainian authorities as the “Butchers of Bucha”.
