Dean Henderson ‘slammed Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag’ and is yet to snag top spot with David de Gea yet to sign his contract

DEAN HENDERSON will not succeed David de Gea as Manchester United’s first-choice goalkeeper, according to reports, because he ‘ripped off’ Erik ten Hag.
Henderson, 26, was loaned to fellow Premier League team Nottingham Forest last season.
He played 20 games for Steve Cooper’s men before suffering a hamstring injury that ruled him out for the remainder of the season.
Now he will return to Old Trafford – less than 12 months after he slammed the club’s treatment of him.
The No. 1 spot in Ten Hag’s side could be up for grabs as De Gea is out of contract and it’s unclear whether he will sign a new contract or not.
But Manchester evening news understands that Henderson is not on good terms with the Red Devils boss – who saw the goalkeeper leave just days before his first training session last summer.
Henderson is also believed to have turned down a return to the club mid-season when the latter were looking to replace De Gea.
Man Utd eventually signed Jack Butland when he refused to cut his loan.
Forest manager Cooper is understood to be keen to negotiate a permanent deal with Henderson after he avoided relegation to the Premier League.
And if he fails to secure his Man Utd first-choice status, he is likely to look to force an exit.

After joining Forest at the start of last season, Henderson said: “The conversation I had after leaving the EURO squad was you coming back here to be the No. 1 goalkeeper.”
“I contracted Covid and then unfortunately no one went ahead with what they told me to do.”
“That’s why I turned down so many good loans last summer, and they wouldn’t let me go.”
“Wasting 12 months at my age was a crime. I was angry. It was so frustrating.”
