But they had a goalless draw against Chicago in their opening game of the season with a lousy performance away from Austin.
And among those taking part in the terrifying display were former Newcastle player DeAndre Yedlin and former Juventus and Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain.
Sebastian Druissi gave Austin the lead midway through the first half, before Julio Cascante doubled the advantage shortly after.
Driussi scored his second goal of the game six minutes into the first half as Austin made it 3-0.
But Higuain then assisted Leonardo Campana to regain a goal for the visitors in the 53rd minute.
