David Beckham’s Inter Miami partner Jorge Mas, the top conglomerate is trying to buy the Spanish team’s Real Zaragoza

DAVID BECKHAM’s Inter Miami partner Jorge Mas is reported to have agreed to buy Spanish second division side Real Zaragoza.
Mas now co-owns MLS Inter Miami with Manchester United legendary and former England captain Beckham.
And now Mas is preparing to expand his empire by buying a 90% stake in Real Zaragoza, according to Spanish newspaper El Heraldo.
All that remains is for the agreement to be ‘signed and authorized’ by the necessary parties in Spain.
Mas is the head of an international group of investors placed to assume command of the second-tier outfit.
Zaragoza is thought to be saddled with nearly £60m in debt, but that hasn’t stopped Mas from taking over.
Other reports suggest he is set to inject a £15m investment into the team in a bid to help bring the club into LaLiga.
However, promotion could prove to be tough business, with Zaragoza currently 16th place on La Liga 2 and just seven points off the relegation zone.

A ‘complete reconstruction’ at the club is expected once the official takeover is made.
It is assumed that the deal will be rubber stamped in the coming days.
Zaragoza’s last campaign in the Spanish top flight was in the 2012-13 season, where they were relegated after finishing bottom of the table.
Spanish businessman Cesar Alierta is the current majority owner of the six-time Copa del Rey champions.
But he is now expected to hand over the reins to Mas, Beckham’s friend.
