Beckham’s career then took his family to America to LA Galaxy and Italy to AC Milan.

But in 2013, the future of the England legend stood still, paving the way for a return home.

Until PSG came knocking.

Speaking at the launch of a friend’s charity, Beckham, 48, revealed: “It was the first time Victoria had the choice of where we move because before that the family had to move with me.”

“So she decided to return to London where her business is based. On the way back to London my phone rang and it was the PSG President.

“When I had to explain it to Victoria, she burst into tears because she obviously felt like she had me back after all this time.

“But she knew I was being offered a chance to win another trophy. She is an incredible woman.”

“I don’t think I’ve met anyone who works as hard as she does. She is committed not only to our family but to her business as well and she has so much success that has come from hard work over the years.”

The move paid off as Beckham won the French league title in the capital and made 14 PSG appearances.

He then retired but stayed in the game, buying MLS club Inter Miami in 2019.

And this summer, Beckham made his biggest breakthrough as club boss after it was announced that Lionel Messi would sign for him.
