THE suspect who is believed to have been driving through the Waukesha parade was seen “talking to himself,” with neighbors alleging he was “bullied” before the SUV rampaged.
Darrell Brooks A neighbor, who did not wish to be identified, told The Sun after the car was seen plunging into a carnival crowd, full of elderly people and children.
“I didn’t know him better than ‘hello and goodbye’ but I remember seeing that red van parked there,” they said.

The victims were identified as Virginia Sorenson, 79 Leanna Owens, 71 Tamara Durand, 52 James Coolidge, 52 Wilhelm Hospel, 82 years old.
Officials said Monday that 18 children were being treated at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin following the alleged abuse.
Brooks was arrested and charged with five counts of fifth-degree murder.
“He was definitely broken,” another neighbor Ebony told The Sun. “The whole thing was messed up but it didn’t surprise me.”
Others told The Sun they had seen him around the neighborhood but never had contact with him. Others said they didn’t know who he was.

No one answered his door, but neighbors said he was staying with his mother.
The streets on either side of the Brooks house were quiet on Monday night.
A few cars came and went.
Some neighbors returned home. One person said they had heard about the incident but did not realize the suspect lived on their property.

One of the child victims was Jessalyn Torres, 11, who was taking part parade with the group Waukesha Xtreme Dance.
She was with her mother Amber Kohnke and 2-year-old sister Averie when she was hit by the SUV.
She is still in the hospital fighting for her life with a broken pelvis and loss of one kidney, she also had a torn lung and the other kidney and internal bleeding.
On Monday night, a family friend told The Sun she was sedated but stable.
Jessalyn’s uncle, Ryan Kohnke, exclusively told The Sun: “Her mom and dad are with her at the hospital right now, they’re not leaving her. The rest of us will make sure the kids are safe. others are taken care of during this time. .
Kohnke explained that Jessalyn’s mother, Amber, has four children, with the oldest 16 years old and the youngest 2 years old.
“We’re getting a lot of support from the community who want to donate meals. We’re organizing everything.”
A family friend started a GoFundMe for the Kohnke family.
“These are good kids, always happy,” family friend Oscar Luna told The Sun. “Each one has its own personality and gets along very well.”
Videos posted by Brooks on YouTube appear to show the identical car plow into the parade.
The first three letters on the ADP license plate and the vehicle’s description are the same as reported on a police scanner.
Brooks affiliated court documents, who wrote about murder related to rap lyrics, to the address in Milwaukee where he was arrested.
He was convicted in 2006 of fathering a child after having sex with a 15-year-old girl.
Brooks was on probation until his arrest for disobeying a sex offense law in 2016, and obtained a public arrest warrant after being released on bail for that charge.
Brooks was released on $1,000 bail three days before he allegedly jumped over a parade fence and left a trail of carnage.
