Dark Souls fans spend 9 months building a Black Knight cosplay

But it looks absolutely gorgeous.

We have seen a lot Dark souls cosplay for years, but this one is a league of its own. Courtesy of Damaged coating, we bring you: The Black Knight.

Damagedcosplays posted this incredible cosplay on their Instagram after debuting the outfit at YuniCon, Austria’s top anime convention. According to a Reddit post from Damagedcosplays, the entire building took nine months to build using mainly EVA foam, with the exception of the wooden framed fender.

The level of detail here is definitely the best we’ve ever seen. Look at the drawing on the armor, the red blood on the ax, and the scratches on the edge of the shield. Really great work from a true master of their craft.

In case you missed it, we’ve discovered exactly why Dark Souls is such a hard game as it is. Turns out that director Hidetaka Miyazaki is a total sadist. Meaning, everything that is done to the player in the game is exactly what Miyazaki wants to do for him. Yes, including the part where you get punched by a giant mushroom.
