Danger! Host Mayim Bialik distracts fans when she doesn’t hold in her laughter during ‘close’ celebrity spinoff semifinals

Celebrity Danger! There might have been three comedic actors on Thursday, but fans blamed it was Mayim Bialik who got the biggest laugh.
The surprisingly intense episode was won by Patton Oswalt with just the last clue.

Brendan Hunt, who stars as Coach Beard in Ted Lasso, joined legendary comic Patton Oswalt and Superbad star Michael Cera.
This is the final semi-final game of Jeopardy! Special in tournament format – as the $1M final (to charity) airs next Thursday, February 2nd.
Waiting in the wings is Star Trek actor Wil Wheaton, who has managed to win two episodes, along with Mad TV’s Ike Barenholtz.
Tonight was going to be stiff competition as Patton made his debut with a whopping $54,400, Michael a “SuperGood” $20,000 and Brendan for the most correct answers and $28,000.

It turned out that almost every clue was answered and in Final Jeopardy Brendan had $31,000, Michael $20,000 and Patton $12.3,000.
‘GAME OVER!’
Michael, in particular, wowed fans with a hard-hitting reference to Freud and Jung and a brave “Daily Double” bet towards the end.
“I felt smart until they gave me this psychology rap before the commercial,” one fan tweeted of Michael’s impressive Freud conjecture.
“Brendan is in the lead but the game is still tight unlike the last two weeks,” tweeted another.

Michael got the Graceland Daily Double and declared he would “bet anything” – taking it to $8600 and putting on a great fight.
“James Holzhauer would be proud of Michael Cera for winning everything,” tweeted another viewer.
“SEA KISSUT?”
Final Jeopardy read, “‘Breeders, Wives and Unwomen’ was the headline for the New York Times review of this novel.”
Only Patton was right about The Handmaid’s Tale.
He went all out and doubled his score to $24,600.
Tragically, Michael wrote: “Seabiscuit” with a scowl on his face.
He also went all out, finishing with zero while Brendan wrote “Heartburn.” He bet $10,500 and ended up with $20,700.
With only $3,900 and the final clue, Patton won the game and will advance to the finals.
“Celebrity Jeopardy was amazing tonight,” concluded one fan.
“I SHOWL SEABISCUIT!?” tweeted another.
“Patton is in the final because of the last question!!” applauded a third.
“That was a blast, honestly, if a finish. That was a good game, honestly,” wrote a fourth, while a fifth also simply tweeted, “SEABISCUIT” with a crying emoji.
‘OH MY GOD, MAYIM’
Mayim, 47, who wore a winning updo, repeatedly lost her cool as she giggled through much of the interview and at certain cues, according to fans.
Fans loved the Go-for-Broke show but had to admit that Mayim almost got in the way with her well-intentioned hosting style.
“Oh my god, Jeopardy, Mayim Bialik is just SO bad at it. Why do you keep letting them host???” one Twitter user tapped on that front.
“Idc what someone says. I love Mayim as a hostess. She’s positive and so really excited to be there :)” defended a second.
“Mayim couldn’t hold back her laughter.” wrote a third.
Celebrity Danger! was first aired in 1992 and the last showdown was in 2015.

The special had previously only been hosted by the late Alex Trebek, who tragically died of cancer in 2020.
With the new Triple Jeopardy, it’s been upgraded to an hour-long tournament! round and some rowdy contestants who were eliminated in the quarterfinals.
