Annoying Mayim
Critics have sharply compared Mayim Bialik’s “slow” hosting pace to that of Ken Jennings now that Ken’s thrilling Masters special has come to an end.
Megan Braught faced Jesse Chin and Ed Petersen on Thursday’s episode for a total one-day win of $7,999.
Ed defeated Lynn Di Vito, the contestant who technically won after a controversial decision ended Ben Chan’s eight-day streak.
Jesse took a small lead over Ed with a correct answer on the third daily double — with the correct answer [seen above] with “Kerry.”
It took Mayim several seconds before he accepted Jesse’s $4,000 bet and said, “That’s right John Kerry” — while the hiatus is nothing new, it has fans in a frenzy.
Before Final Jeopardy! held Jesse at $14,800, Ed at $12,400 and Megan at $6,200.
After “Final Jeopardy,” Mayim ended the show with an unintentionally deadpan tone: “Well that’s Thursday, let’s see what happens on Friday. We’ll see you tomorrow.”
TOO SLOW, TOO BAD
Mayim’s reluctance to see the nominees as correct also meant fans didn’t downplay her opinions on Twitter.
One fan wrote, “I’m sure this has been said many times, but if Mayim Bialik doesn’t stop hesitating when answering the questions about Jeopardy, I’m going to put my remote right through my eye.”
“If Mayim Bialik is at Jeopardy! would take longer to say “Yes, that’s right,” she would reply on “Wheel of Fortune.” wrote another.
A third fan wrote, “Well it’s a sad day that we won’t see Ken again until the final week of season 39.”

A fourth said: “@Jeopardy I don’t mean to whine but tonight’s game is one of the slowest I’ve seen. And Mayim needs to speed up her confirmations.”
Someone commented, “I’m a huge fan but… I didn’t want @Jeopardy Masters to end… I loved every minute of it. Too bad Mayim still moderates Jeopardy regularly. I’ll watch it again when Ken gets back.”
