Danger! Fans and contestants condemn Mayim Bialik for showing ‘no love’ to 3-Day Champion Jared Watson on stage

A danger! The contestant wowed viewers by winning an entire category on Tuesday’s episode – but Mayim Bialik wasn’t so thrilled.

The presenter raised eyebrows at his failure to acknowledge that outgoing three-day winner Jared Watson got the entire column right, as expected.

Jared, a quality control specialist from Greenville, Texas, lost to Suresh Krishnan, a network engineer from Suwanee, Georgia, ending his $56,000 run.

But he walked out with a bookworm after playing Double Jeopardy! had swept! Books and Authors category in advance.

He raised $6,000 in the process, but host Mayim, 47, didn’t mention he was leading the category and quickly moved on.

Leading a category is a prestigious and rare achievement.

When a contestant won the Phobias category earlier this year, co-host Ken Jennings was quick to applaud, “That’s right, you know your phobias!”

“MAYIM FAILED TO GIVE PROPS”

One Reddit user wrote in an internet thread, “Not enjoying Jared leading the Books and Authors category? Good Lord…”

Another also noted the snub, “For some reason Mayim failed to commend Jared for leading the BOOKS & AUTHORS category.”

“It was an impressive series as it spanned the literary spectrum from Bram Stoker to Octavia Butler.”

A third argued, “I thought I heard or read somewhere that they don’t give the applause/credit for running categories anymore, probably because almost everyone is jumping around on the board these days.”

While even Suresh, who won the episode, chimed in and said: “I was wondering that too.

“If I remember correctly, Jared didn’t go through all of them top to bottom (but all of the categories together) and that might have negated this recognition.

MAYIM BIALIK’S “LONG BREAKS”

Ken recently completed the exciting film Jeopardy! In the Masters Special, which James Holzhauer won, 24-year-old outsider Mattea Roach came in a close second.

Mayim, Ken’s co-successor to Alex Trebek, wraps up the regular season through the summer.

Ken will not appear until Tournament of Champions 2023, which season 40 begins in September, excluding the final week of season 39.

Many danger! Viewers who have tuned in since the Masters haven’t been overly impressed with Mayim and her moderation style.

In particular, they noticed that the actress took too long to reply to the contestants when they gave their answers, and that the contestants even started to add to their answers while waiting for her to decide.

As one Reddit user recently put it, “I’m not posting this to open a mayim bash, but do we know why she pauses so long before confirming an answer is correct?”

Another agreed: “It’s not ‘Mayim bashing’ at all to suggest that her pregnant breaks confuse contestants (not to mention us viewers).

“Producers need to address this as not only is it annoying but it could also affect the outcome of a game,” they added.
