Brazilian national Danelo Souza Cavalcante, 34, was found guilty of murder in August.
In 2021, Cavalcante was arrested and accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend Deborah Brando to death in front of their two young children, ages seven and four.
According to the lawsuit, Danelo allegedly pulled his ex-girlfriend’s hair, threw her to the ground and then stabbed her 38 times, causing her to bleed to death.
After the incident, Brando’s young children asked neighbors for help and Danelo left the scene. He was arrested by police after they discovered he was trying to flee to Mexico.

Danelo Cavalcante Weight Loss: Illness and Health Update 2023
Danelo Cavalcante’s weight loss has been a topic of interest to many people. Speaking of which, he may have lost some weight due to being in prison, but the exact weight he lost is not known yet.
During a news conference on Wednesday, police presented surveillance footage that showed Cavalcante making his escape.
In a prison tunnel, Cavalcante is shown standing and surveying his surroundings before placing his hands on the wall and taking a step backwards to move vertically.
After seven seconds he leaves the camera’s field of view.

According to Deputy Warden Howard Holland, the Chester County Jail was at capacity at the time of the Cavalcante outbreak, but it took guards more than an hour to alert local emergency services to the outbreak.
Security camera footage shows that Cavalcante scaled the wall around 9:45 a.m. and that it took until about 9:45 a.m. for guards to realize he was missing.
As part of the investigation, a tower guard who was on duty at the time was placed on leave.

According to police, he was injured earlier in the week and was released from the animal hospital on Thursday.
The search was particularly difficult due to high humidity and record-breaking temperatures in the area.
In a statement to the media Thursday, Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens said, “He is doing well. He is expected to fully recover and return to work within the next week.”
State police thanked the veterinary team for their care of Loki in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Cavalcante has been on the run since his escape from the Chester County Jail on August 31st. Since then, hundreds of police officers, K-9 fighters, aircraft units and many types of technology have been involved in the hunt.
Where are the authorities looking now?
It wasn’t until Wednesday that residents received an emergency call from the authorities. They are still urged to secure their homes and be on the lookout for lost vehicles, bicycles or other transportation.
A recording of Cavalcante’s mother pleading for his peaceful surrender is broadcast from helicopters flying over the search area.
According to NPR member station WHYY, the search has become more difficult due to thick foliage and hot weather.

Thermal imaging cameras have been rendered unusable due to the extreme heat and a tactical search dog has been hospitalized as a result.
Around Pocopson, which is about 25 miles west of Philadelphia, police are concentrating their efforts in a roughly seven-square-mile area.
The FBI, Pennsylvania State Police and U.S. Customs and Border Protection have sent reinforcements to help with the hunt.
