After a timeout late in the third quarter, Warriors center Kevin Looney had a free dunk from an inbounds play as the Mavericks lined up across the court.
The game resulted in a 90-87 lead for Golden State as Dallas believed they had possession and was caught by surprise.
The Mavericks ended up losing by two points and team governor Cuban tweeted that he didn’t agree with the bizarre sequence and said the umpires told Dallas it was their ball.
He wrote: “During the timeout, the officer changed the call and never told us,” wrote Cuban.

“Then when they saw us line up like it was our ball, he just gave the ball to the warriors.
“Never said a word to us. They have an easy basketball.”
He went on to say the call was the “worst incumbent non-call error in NBA history.”
According to ESPN, the Cuban will protest the controversial call.
And fans have different opinions on this topic.
Fans took to social media to criticize Cuba’s decision to protest the match result.
One wrote: “Just admit your team had a brain fart and move on jeez.”
Another said: “Cry baby.”
A third commented: “Except that didn’t happen at all. They never called Mavericks Ball. Nobody called that. Never.”
On the other side of the coin, there were NBA fans who agreed with Cuban.
One comment read: “This is totally unacceptable. It actually makes NFL officers look competent.”
Others said, “Lmao it’s literally confirmed the umpires helped the warriors” and “NBA and umpires are definitely working with the books.” [laughing emojis].

The Mavericks have 48 hours after Wednesday’s game to file the protest.
Under NBA Constitution, Commissioner Adam Silver will make a decision within five days of receiving the evidence.
