It is official! We’ll all be wearing neon ao dai in Infinite about three days from now.
343 Industries fall Halo Infinitemultiplayer on us as a very welcome surprise a month in advance almost feels like a life before now. Many of you will be so well versed in Infinite’s multiplayer that it’s hard to imagine a time when it wasn’t part of your regular spin. 343 also did a pretty great job at keeping things fresh. Although contemplating Halo’s 360 servers just shut down last week and people are still playing when that happens, maybe it’s not necessary.
Either way, the 343 has had bike themes since launch and has now confirmed what the next theme will be. As shown on Infinite’s roadmap and discovered by data miners, Infinite’s next multiplayer event will be Cyber Showdown. The reveal trailer for the event can be found below and kicks off tomorrow, January 18.
The trailer shows a rather confused Spartan examining an arcade machine only to be blown into oblivion by the opponent shortly after. Make sure you don’t do that as Capture The Flag and Slayer are rotated during part of the event as well as King Of The Hill and Attrition for the first time in Infinite. Cyclic match types were revealed as part of the aforementioned leak and have not been confirmed by Infinite’s developers.
The Cyber Showdown leak appears to be accurate based on the only new cosmetic introduced in the trailer above. A neon mohawk that data researchers previously revealed is a reward for players who achieve 10th place in the Cyber Showdown event. That seems to be a bit easier to do than before because again, if the data sets are to be believed, the new event will run until January 31.
Other unlockable items that have been leaked but not confirmed include new stances, armor overlays, and weapon trinkets. Infinite’s Cyber Showdown starts tomorrow, and players will need to complete starred challenges to level up and towards that neon mohawk. You know within the next few days everyone will be playing single-player sports and the novelty will wear off faster than the buzz you get using web shooters Fortnite.
