‘CSI: Vegas’: Marg Helgenberger Confirmed To Return As Catherine

Marg Helgenberger officially back on the scene (crime), signed a deal to reprise the role of Catherine Willows on CBS’ CSI: Vegas.

The franchise’s vet – whose absence from the first season of the revived series was addressed in the opening episode (see here) – starred in the first 12 seasons of the original CSIand returned briefly in its ’14th/final season to Celebrating the show’s 300th episode.

News of the done deal came about two weeks after the OG . member Jorja Fox announced that she will follow longtime leading man William Petersen out the exit door before Season 2 of CSI: Vegas. (Petersen has only recently signed on to the first 10-episode series, but continues to serve as an executive producer.) “For me, CSI Always a love story. The story that people can find love in the darkest places and times,” explains Fox of his decision. “Personally, I cannot separate Sara and Grissom again. So go Grissom… ..So Sara. Wherever they go, whatever they do, they belong together.”

Also, as we reported at the end of January, CSI: Vegas rookie Mel Rodriguez – who plays the main role of Medical Examiner Hugo Ramirez – is also get rid of the procedure.

Not counting Petersen or Fox going on with CSI: Vegashost Jason Tracey told TVLine that with the cast of four in the past CSI shows to draw from, “I’d be like a kid in a candy store if I had Season 2, to ‘go shopping’ and hopefully touch some familiar faces.”

Helgenberger is also expected to continue with All increase as Lola’s mentor, Judge Lisa Benner.
