Critics Choice Awards Laud TV Nominees ‘Succession’, ‘Squid Fishing Game’

Another day, another set of award announcements – this time, from Critics Selection Association. Early Monday morning, the organization announced the TV nominations for the Critics Choice Awards, which honor the best TV and streaming content from 2021.

Held for the first time in June 2011, the critically-acclaimed television awards honor programming that aired in the previous year of airing and are presented by the Association of Broadcasters and Broadcasters. figure, has been remade in the decade since.

In 2015, the awards moved into the calendar year qualifying period, with awards ceremonies in June for eligible films from June 30, 2014 to May 31, 2015, followed by another awards ceremony in January 2016 to honor programs that aired from June 1, 2015 through December 31, 2015. That ceremony, held at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, was For the first time, television awards were given along with the group’s film awards, now standard operating procedure, with both television and film awards lumped into an organization known as the Choice Awards. Ballots for the final round of voting for the Critics’ Choice Awards will be handed out to members on January 5, 2022, and will return just two days later on January 7 at 9 p.m. evening pacific time. The 27th Critics’ Choice Awards will be held at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City and air on Sunday, January 9, 2022 on The CW Network and TBS. A server has yet to be announced. Taye Diggs, star of The CW’s “All American,” has been a host for the past three years.
