Ron was furious after it was announced on Friday that he had been left out of the starting line-up to face Manchester City.

His teammates were then shocked when he failed to turn up for a club meal on Saturday – with his absence from the squad on game day attributed to a hip problem.

Instead, the 37-year-old striker is said to have flown home to Portugal.

And on Monday night, neither the club nor his representatives could confirm where he is or whether he would attend Tuesday’s training session.

The players are given a day off on Monday and are expected to return to Carrington on Tuesday.

Interim manager Ralf Rangnick insists the players will be rehabilitated in Manchester and not abroad if they are injured.

United were beaten 4-1 on Sunday – and Ronaldo’s future is not the only one in doubt after that dismal performance.

struggling star Rashford was also affected by being left out of the starting lineup at the Etihad, with Rangnick choosing to leave without a recognized striker.

He has started just two of the club’s last 11 Premier League games – and only one of them has been absent due to injury.

Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring his situation with Kylian Mbappe set to join Real Madrid in the summer.

And British smasher Rashford, 24, is now more open to that move than ever.

The former Manchester-born star never even thought about leaving Old Trafford when he arrived from the club’s academy.

But he is known to be very frustrated about his current situation.

Rashford, whose contract expires in June 2023, feels Ronaldo’s arrival has pushed him aside.

And he believes his World Cup hopes may be at stake as he lacks game time at United.
