The 37-year-old Ronaldo was again on the bench in the encounter with Morocco and was brought on by coach Fernando Santos in the 51st minute.
Despite his early substitution, the former Manchester United goalscorer was unable to prevent his side from losing 1-0.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner now faces an uncertain future after being ruled out by the Red Devils last month.
He has been linked with a Megabucks move to Saudi Arabia, but a transfer is pending.
After his tearful exit from the World Cup, Ronaldo was defended by The Sun’s Piers Morgan.
Partner Georgina Rodriguez could only watch, having already slammed Fernando Santos for not choosing her husband on Instagram.
Following his side’s departure, Ronaldo wrote in an emotional statement: “Winning a World Cup for Portugal was the biggest and most ambitious dream of my career.
“Fortunately, I’ve won many titles of international importance, including for Portugal, but taking our country’s name to the highest level in the world has been my biggest dream.

“I fought for it. I fought hard for this dream. In the 5 appearances I’ve made at World Cups in 16 years, I’ve always given my all alongside great players and supported by millions of Portuguese people.
“I left everything on the field. I never turned to fighting and never gave up on that dream.
“Unfortunately, the dream ended yesterday. It’s not worth reacting to heat.”
Despite his disappointment, Ronaldo will now return to the drawing board as he plans his next move.
To update his fans, United’s former No7 wrote cryptically: “3 aspects of reality.
“Pain, uncertainty and constant work.”
Despite being criticized by his former team-mate last month, Gary Neville said it was “terrible” to see Ronaldo break down in tears following Portugal’s elimination from the World Cup.
“THAT WAS A HORRIBLE PICTURE”
The pundit told his Sky Sports podcast: “I want to mention Cristiano Ronaldo because I saw this picture of him crying in the tunnel. That was a terrible image for me.
“That’s the moment he knows his dream of winning the World Cup for his country is over.

“We were all there at the end of our careers but he’s one of the greatest, if not the greatest, players of all time.
“It was horrible to see him like that. He’s had a tough few months.”
