Cristiano Ronaldo scores the club’s 700th goal after coming on as a first-half substitute for the injured Anthony Martial

CRISTIANO RONALDO scored the club’s 700th career goal just 15 minutes after coming on as a first-half substitute against Everton.
CR7 were benched again in the Premier League by Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.

But when Anthony Martial limped off injured in the 28th minute, Ronaldo took his place.
He entered the action just one hit away from 700 club goals.
And it didn’t take long for Ronaldo to hit the record number.
He flashed his left foot past Jordan Pickford after being brought on target by Casemiro for his first Prem goal of the season just before the break.
It was his 700th club goal and his 144th in the colors of the Red Devils.
Ronaldo has also netted five for Sporting Lisbon, 101 for Juventus and a whopping 450 for Real Madrid.
His overall tally is now 817 thanks to the 117 goals he’s scored for Portugal.
French striker Martial was favored over Ronaldo at the top after coming on as a substitute in Thursday’s 3-2 win over Omonia Nicosia.

And that’s despite Martial still bouncing back from an Achilles injury that forced him to miss seven games.
And the decision to start him backfired when the 26-year-old took a hit when the game was not even half an hour old.
However, Ronaldo quickly made a name for himself after being offered a few rare minutes in the Premier League.
Frank Lampard’s side took an impressive lead thanks to ex-Arsenal man Alex Iwobi.
After Casemiro was stolen high up on the pitch, Iwobi picked it up on the edge of the box and rolled an absolute beauty past David De Gea into the top corner.
The Toffees weren’t ahead for long, however.

Antony equalized with a precision finish 10 minutes later, becoming the first United player in history to score in his first three Prem games for the club.
Ronaldo then put the Red Devils in front with a typically clinical effort.
