It is Ronaldo’s first goal for Portugal since his brace against Switzerland in June.

The 37-year-old struck an emotional tone before the game as he headed for what is likely to be his final World Cup appearance.

He seemed on the verge of tears as the Portuguese faithful gave him a heroic reception.

Ronaldo also had the ball in the net in the first half but he is said to have fouled a Ghanaian defender to regain the ball.

But he didn’t let this game end without a goal and then scored his national opener.

Since then there has been a flood of goals in the game.

Andre Ayew equalized for Ghana before a quick brace from Joao Felix and Rafael Leao put Portugal back in front.
