Cristiano Ronaldo ready to start training while Erik ten Hag brings Man Utd in form ahead of Brentford clash

MANCHESTER UNITED superstar Cristiano Ronaldo looks ready for action ahead of Saturday’s clash with Brentford.

United got off to a poor start to the season last weekend as they lost 2-1 to Brighton at Old Trafford and were booed off the pitch by their own fans.

Ronaldo came off the bench in the second half amid a dramatic summer in which he informed club bosses of his desire to leave as he prefers to play Champions League football this season.

However, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is still training hard with the rest of the Red Devils team at Carrington after missing pre-season due to family reasons.

United manager Erik ten Hag tries to get his side back in shape as they prepare to face Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Ten Hag has put the likes of Ronaldo, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes through their paces in the intense heat.

This comes after the Dutch tactician admitted he has a “hell of a job” to do at United.

Ten Hag said after the Brighton defeat: “It’s a hell of a job [before us] – we have to work really hard, analyze and then move on.

“Today was a good start and after that we fell down a notch and made mistakes that the opponent punished.

“But it was a good opponent, us [tried to] work well together, but if you make mistakes, you get punished.”

United are expected to welcome Juventus’s Adrien Rabiot as the latest addition to their squad.

If the deal goes through, Rabiot will join Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez and Eriksen, who also joined during the summer transfer window.
