CRISTIANO RONALDO dropped a massive hint that he plans to stay at Manchester United by claiming he is “happy and excited” about Erik ten Hag’s appointment.
SunSport revealed Ronaldo has weighed his future and told his friends he’s ready to move on – if Ten Hag wants him.
The Portuguese superstar has urged United bosses to give Ten Hag time so he can sort out the Old Trafford farce and end five years of trophy-less torment.
Ronaldo, who has scored 24 goals this season, said: “We’re happy and excited, not only as players but also as fans.
“I wish him the best and let’s believe we will win trophies next year.
“What I know about him is that he has done a fantastic job for Ajax, that he is an experienced coach. But we have to give him time.”
“Things have to change the way he wants them to.
“Obviously I hope we succeed because if you succeed, the whole of Manchester will succeed as well. I wish him the best.”
Ronaldo wants to see the final year of his contract at Old Trafford despite the club not competing in the Champions League in the autumn.
Even a Europa League spot isn’t guaranteed just yet, meaning Ronaldo could be competing in the lowly Europa Conference League next season.

But despite fears Ronaldo would try to curtail his emotional return to United, it looks like he’s moving on.
That is assuming Ten Hag has included the 37-year-old in their future plans.
It is also understood that Ronaldo is keen on staying in Britain as his son Cristiano Jr has settled into United’s academy.
And he believes his partner Georgina Rodriguez – who previously lived in the UK while working as a nanny before meeting him in Madrid – will benefit from the stability as she copes with the arrival of her young daughter and the tragic loss of her twin brother getting ready.
