CRISTIANO RONALDO and Marcus Rashford have buried the hatchet for the good of Manchester United.
The couple have had a difficult relationship since Ronaldo, who left a bloody mess for Portugal on Saturday, returned to Old Trafford in September 2021.
But despite Ronaldo’s frustration at only starting two games this season, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has emerged as one of Rashford’s biggest cheerleaders.
A source said: “Ronaldo was a bit sore in the dressing room and some of the players were frustrated that he missed preseason and was sulking at Carrington.
“But since the transfer window closed his attitude has improved and he’s been very helpful with Marcus.
“He’s been spending time with him, talking about the game and offering his constructive criticism of the positioning on the pitch.
“Marcus was a bit surprised by that because it’s always difficult when you’re playing and a teammate isn’t and you’re both fighting for the same position.
“But the relationship between the two has never been better and Marcus knows there is a lot to learn from him.
“He’s grateful for the advice and for the fact that Ronaldo seems genuine in that he wants Marcus to improve and succeed.”
Rashford, 24, has been favored as a main striker this season and has already rewarded Ten Hag with three goals and two assists in six games so far.

SunSport revealed that Ten Hag believes Rashford United could even fire for their first Premier League title since 2013.
Ronaldo scored an impressive 24 goals last season but Rashford lost form and was sidelined, scoring just five goals in 32 games.
But this season under new coach Erik ten Hag, it’s Ronaldo who has pulled out of the starting XI after a missed preparation.
Ronaldo, 37, scored his first goal of the season from the penalty spot in a Europa League clash against Sheriff Tiraspol last week.
Rashford had been pushing for a place in Gareth Southgate’s League of Nations squad but was kept out through injury.
Ronaldo has said he has no plans to retire from international football after the World Cup and hopes to represent Portugal at Euro 2024.
