It was considered one of the most advanced hospitals in the country at the time, but has now become one of the busiest places in the country.

It is believed that many spirits roam the halls of Waverly Hills Sanitarium, but one of the most active spirits may be a young boy named Timmy.

Timmy is known as a playful boy who enjoys interacting with visitors.

He is said to enjoy playing tag with visitors to the building.

They say if you roll a ball down a long hallway, Timmy will often roll the ball back toward you, which is a welcome change for a haunted house.

Unfortunately, not all Waverly Hills resident spirits are so playful.

Another ghost often seen in this location is a nurse who hanged herself in the hospital while the Waverly Hills was being operated as a tuberculosis facility.

She is believed to still roam the hallways.

Another ghost is a mysterious man in white that hovers around the corridors late at night.

There is no information as to who the ghost was while it was alive, but its presence is often sighted by those who visit the sanatorium.

The Waverly Hills Sanitarium opened in 1910 and, according to its website, was originally intended to house 40-50 tuberculosis patients.

In the 1960s, after a cure for tuberculosis was found, the building became Wood-haven Medical Services. The plant was shut down by the state in 1981.

The building has since been repurchased and the Waverly Hills Historical Society is working to preserve and protect it.

The sanatorium offers a variety of tours, including a two-hour paranormal activity tour and a six-hour public inquiry.

The sanatorium has become a favorite among ghost hunters and tourists who search the halls and buildings, which remain largely as they were then used.
