Craig Melvin kicks off midway through the segment to share the emotional interaction with fans in a new video

TODAY star Craig Melvin took some time on Friday’s episode to pay tribute to some of his superfans.
Craig paused from hosting the Today morning show to visit a fan in the audience holding up a compliment sign.
The 44-year-old host posted a clip on his Instagram Stories of him jogging mid-segment in front of two fans who were in the designated audience area outside of NBC Studios.
One of the fans who caught his attention held up a sign that read, “I love Big Time Rush and Craig Melvin.”
Hearts adorned the shield.
The re-emerged Big Time Rush trend is back after the boy band is back on tour and appeared on the talk show on Friday.

Craig was so touched that he hugged the elderly woman who was waving the cute sign.
Another woman standing next to the older woman, who appeared to be her daughter, was also hugged by the TV personality as she was also a superfan.
Big Time Rush’s biggest hit, Boyfriend, played alongside the touching video.
The NBC personality reposted the short snippet from his TikTok account.

In early May, Craig announced that he had joined TikTok and promoted his account as a place where he would talk about unspecified things.
He posted his first TikTok in his office at 30 Rockefeller Center.
CRAIG’S CLIPS
“Hey people! Craig Melvin here from NBC News, from The Today Show,” Craig began in the video.
Wearing a light blue shirt with a striped red, blue and white tie, Craig joked that “the unthinkable has happened”.
He continued, “Some of the younger people in the office convinced me to join TikTok. I don’t know exactly what it is, but I’m here for the tik and I’m here for the tok.”
Craig then said he would post about “random things” including food, cooking, music, his kids, his wife, his office and behind the scenes at work.
“Yeah, you got me, I have a bar in my office!” he said, panning the camera around to show other parts of his Rockefeller Center workplace.
“Like I said, I’m here for the tik, I’m here for the tok.”
He then said goodbye and ended the clip after showing viewers his office.
GONE WILD TODAY
Around that time, Craig and his co-host Sheinelle Jones, 45, were shocked when their sleep medicine guest guest suggested hot sleepers could sleep naked or with a pair of socks.
Craig, Sheinelle and Jill Martin, 47, hosted today’s “Sleep On It” segment in an episode earlier in May.
dr Michael Breus, a clinical psychologist also known as “The Sleep Doctor,” stopped by.
dr Breus shared some things that can cause trouble falling asleep in the summer.
He suggested trying cooling sheets and mattresses to solve the common problem of overheating while sleeping.
“They also claim that what you wear and what you sleep on can make a big difference,” Craig said after Dr. Breus had made his suggestions.
Breus replied: “Absolutely, so naked or in pajamas? That’s always one of the questions I get asked. And for people who have trouble regulating their body temperature, I have no problem sleeping without clothes.”
“Oh!” exclaimed Craig.
The doctor continued, “It can actually be very beneficial. But some people get cold when they sleep without clothes, don’t they?”
“Yeah, and you’re so naked,” Jill said.
Breus said: “Sometimes that can be a good thing. Sometimes that’s not exactly where you want to be.”
“So what I keep telling people is that if you’re getting really, really hot and you’re uncomfortable sleeping without clothes, you should put on a pair of socks.”
This prompted a hilarious reaction from Craig, Sheinelle and Jill.
Sheinelle cackled, “So naked and socks.”
Craig said: “So completely naked? But only socks?”

dr Breus explained how heat is dissipated through the feet.
“Dr. Breus, we just learned a lot. Maybe too much,” joked Craig.
