A TEAM of former elite SAS soldiers have reportedly killed 20 Russian generals in Ukraine and vowed to fight to the death.
The 12-strong crack squad spent six long weeks targeting powerful Kremlin officers during the war in Ukraine.
They are also said to have killed 15 of the feared Wagner mercenaries in an ambush last month.
A source told the Daily Star on Sunday: “They have around 120 years combined experience with special forces.
“They are completely independent and have access to explosives, weapons and ammunition. At least two are trained combat medics.”
All are veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, between 29 and 62 years old, the eldest is a grandfather.
They are believed to have been recruited through a WhatsApp group for former members of the Special Forces regiment.
And the brave British also helped train some Ukrainian troops in ambush methods.
The source also revealed that they have all valiantly vowed to stay until the end of the war and not be captured alive.
He said: “They know that they cannot afford to be captured because in all likelihood they will be tortured, tried and executed as foreign mercenaries.”
The Sun has reached out to the Department of Defense for comment.
It comes after news earlier this week that Ukraine has reportedly wiped out two of Vladimir Putin’s generals in a single strike.
Last month it was reported that US intelligence was helping Ukrainian troops wipe out Russian generals.
In addition to generals, at least 49 colonels have been killed in the Ukraine war so far, giving Putin a massive setback.
Russian forces have stepped up attacks to capture Severodonetsk, a key city in Ukraine’s eastern Donbass region.
According to Ukrainian sources, hundreds of terrified civilians are taking refuge at a chemical plant amid a deadly Kremlin attack.
If Putin’s men take the city, it would give Moscow control of the entire Luhansk region and could turn the tide of the conflict.
