ST LOUIS – Saint Louis Science Center officials announced Thursday that the attraction will close on Monday afternoon and remain closed through February 2, citing an increase in variation Omicron in the area.
The plans currently call for the building to reopen on February 3, but that decision will continue to be evaluated.
“During the pandemic, the Science Center has closely followed the guidance of the CDC and city health officials to ensure the safety of our community, guests, and team members,” said Todd Basean , president and CEO of the Science Center said in a press release.
“We are confident that our procedures – including masks, capacity limiting, deep cleaning of all spaces, daily health checks of team members, and requiring members to in the group must be fully vaccinated – has been effective in providing a safe environment to visit and work in. However, as a science-based community organization, we feel it is important to respect local health officials’ requests to stay at home as much as possible to help slow the spread of COVID. -19 and ease the strain on local health care systems. ”
Those with tickets to events during this time are asked to contact the Science Center reservation office at 314,289.4424 during normal business hours.
