COVID-19 hospitalizations fall below 100, still high

PERMIAN BASIN, Texas (Nexstar) – Midland and Odessa hospitals remained busy amid the most recent coronavirus spike, however, both hospitals reported COVID-19 censuses under 100, changing compared with the figure reported last week.

Midland Memorial Hospital said it is caring for 98 patients with the virus. 15 of those patients are on ventilators, according to a release.

As of Monday morning, Medical Center Hospital said it was caring for 95 patients with the virus. These patients ranged in age from 5 years to 98 years. 16 hospitalized patients come from surrounding counties.

Hospital leaders continue to encourage people in the community to get vaccinated, wear masks, wash hands, and keep social distance when possible.
