THE World Cup line-up is complete after Costa Rica secured their place in Qatar.
A Joel Campbell goal just in the third minute sent the Central American side past New Zealand in the final qualifier.
New Zealand fought well but Costa Rica lived up to their stats and got a flying start from Campbell.
Jewison Bennette, 17, sped left and fired a low cross which Campbell slammed into the New Zealand back line, which included former West Ham man Winston Reid, for a first home run.
New Zealand struck back when Alex Greive fired wide just after the first set.
Newcastle’s Chris Wood endured a frustrating evening as he saw a penalty averted before his goal was ruled out a minute later after a VAR check for a foul by team-mate Matthew Garbett in the lead up.
After the break, New Zealand were again defeated by VAR when substitute Kosta Barbarouses was shown the red card for his tackle against Francisco Calvo.
The ten men fought on and Clayton Lewis forced a flying save from Keylor Navas.
Despite being a man behind, New Zealand bombed Costa Rica late.
Wood had his own chance to equalize in the last five minutes but failed to control the ball before the shot.
