Copenhagen gun maniac forced to kneel as armed cops hold him at gunpoint in dramatic arrest video after shopping mall rampage

This is the dramatic moment when police officers brought a gun-wielding maniac to his knees after three people were shot dead in Copenhagen.

The 22-year-old gunman was arrested early Sunday night after opening fire at Field’s shopping center in the Danish capital yesterday afternoon.

Danish police later confirmed that they had charged the shooter with suspicion of manslaughter.

Shocking footage of the arrest begins with cops pointing their guns at the suspect while seemingly yelling at him to come down.

Dressed in khaki shorts and vest, the gunman initially appears relaxed as he holds a meter-long rifle to his side.

And then he can be seen lowering his head and falling to his knees – all the while holding the huge rifle.

Another cop joins the first cop to support him as the suspect appears to be picking up a cellphone off the ground.

After holding it to his ear for a few seconds, the man puts the gun down before slowly lying down on the ground.

The standoff ends when two more officers rush over to seize the gun and pin the suspect to the ground.

Panicked crowds ran for their lives as the gunman stalked through the mall.

The killing spree took place near where Harry Styles was scheduled to perform at the Royal Arena two hours later.

A 17-year-old boy, a 17-year-old girl and a 47-year-old man were killed in the horror attack.

Four others were injured, including a 34-year-old Swede and a 16-year-old girl.

Police said there was “no evidence” the shooting was a terrorist attack and nothing to suggest the suspect was collaborating with others.

Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said the capital had been subjected to a “cruel attack” on Sunday evening.

Everyone in the restaurant was ushered into the kitchen and as we sat outside we could hear three or four shots.

“Denmark was hit by a ferocious attack on Sunday evening. Several were killed. Even more hurt. Innocent families shopping or eating out. Children, youth and adults,” she said in a statement late Sunday.

“Our beautiful and otherwise so safe capital was changed in fractions of a second.

“I would like to encourage the Danes to stick together and support each other during this difficult time.”

Thousands of fans had already gathered to see the Watermelon Sugar singer when the concert promoters took the stage and asked her to leave.

Harry said he was “heartbroken” by the massacre and “prayed for everyone involved”.

Many of those caught up in the panic ate at mall restaurants before heading to the performance.

Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots just before the “chaos” erupted.

Mothers were seen clutching babies as terrified shoppers fled the horror scenes.

Haunting footage from the mall shows the gunman tossing a huge rifle over his shoulder as he paces what appears to be waiting for his victims.

It has since emerged that the shooter posted videos of himself with the gun on YouTube last week, reports Jyllands-Posten.

One of the four clips that have since been removed was reportedly uploaded with the caption “I don’t care.”

Another related to the drug quetiapine – used to treat psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar depression and mania.

The drug was reportedly “not working”.

“We are aware of the videos, they are also part of our investigation,” said Deputy Police Inspector Lars Karlsen.

Emilie Jeppesen, 20, told Denmark’s Jyllands Posten: “They didn’t know what was happening. Suddenly there was chaos everywhere.

“We were sitting there wanting to eat and suddenly we could see people running.

“Then at first we thought, ‘Why are people running?’ But then we heard gunshots.”

Her friend Astrid Kofoed Jørgensen added: “Everyone in the restaurant was led into the kitchen and then as we sat outside we could hear three or four shots.”

Another witness, Jacob Sahin Ekman, said he thought he heard “about 15 shots.”

The 27-year-old said he was about to eat with a pal when the shooting started.

He added: “He went out to talk on the phone and all of a sudden he was running into Dalle Valle and he was like, ‘Lie down, lie down. Someone shoots.”

“Then I went under the bar and lay down. It was all very unreal, like something out of a movie.”
