Convicted Lag – dubbed Saw Killer – admits trying to kill prison guard with a shaft

One of Britain’s most dangerous prisoners has admitted trying to kill a prison guard with a shaft.
Matthew Tinling, 35 – dubbed the Saw Killer – is already serving two life sentences after his gruesome murder of an ex-soldier and stabbing another lag.

He now faces an even longer stay inside after brutally stabbing a prison officer at HMP Woodhill, near Milton Keynes, Bucks, in February 2021.
Tinling was being escorted to his cell after a workout when he attacked Samuel Morris.
He admitted attempted murder and is later convicted.
Tinling is housed in a special wing at Woodhill for extremely dangerous prisoners.
A spokesman for the Corrections Service said: “We will not tolerate attacks on our hard-working staff and always urge the highest possible punishment for those involved.”
