Conor McGregor will not represent Leon Edwards vs Kamaru Usman 3 at UFC 286 despite eyeing the winner of the welterweight title fight

CONOR MCGREGOR didn’t show UFC 286 in London – although he planned to watch Leon Edwards defend his title against Kamaru Usman.
London’s O2 Arena was the scene of Edward’s welterweight title trilogy fight with the former UFC pound-for-pound king.

Several big names attended the promotion’s first UK pay-per-view in over seven years at the North Greenwich Dome.
But one man who didn’t show his face is McGregor, despite the Irishman’s teasing.
Notorious, 34, hinted this week that he could appear to watch team-mate Gunnar Nelson and Bryan Barbarena duel.
During an appearance on The MMA Hour, he said: “Yes, I would love to.
“I would like to. I can be there [UFC 286] Map.
“We’re moving into the Black Forge in London and I should go there afterwards.
“‘Günni’ [Gunnar Nelson] is also on the map. So it would be good to see him live and it would be good to see that welterweight title for sure.”
Confirming the promotion had made preparations for the Irishman’s appearance, UFC President Dana White said: “We have seats for him [McGregor].

“So he’s running around. He’s on a big PR tour right now.”
“He liked a pop up here for his bar and Proper Twelve and all the stuff he has running.
“But yes, we have places for him if and when he shows up.”
UFC figurehead McGregor announced this week that he would like to take on the winner of Edwards and Usman’s rubber match.
He said, “Yes, please [a welterweight title shot]. I would like that.”
Edwards, 31, retained his welterweight crown with a majority decision win over former pound-for-pound king Usman.
McGregor has not entered the octagon since breaking his leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

He will return to the cage later this year for a welterweight showdown with Michael Chandler.
A date for the fight has not yet been set, however, as McGregor is currently not in the US Anti-Doping Agency’s testing pool – which he must be in for six months before he is allowed to compete.
