DILLIAN WHYTE plans to wear Union Jack-themed gloves for his domestic bout with Tyson Fury next month.
Whyte decided to wear classic red, white and blue gloves on the night of the fight in honor of what was the biggest British heavyweight title fight since Lennox Lewis took on Frank Bruno in 1993.
Brixton Body Snatcher Gloves are specially made by UK manufacturer Fly who are famous for their high quality combat gear.
Fly Sports’ Josh Steffen told SunSport: “He wanted those colors. I went to Portugal to see him, he talked about those colors for the war.
“Dillian desperately wants red, white and blue because it’s an all-English fight at Wembley, the biggest heavyweight fight since Lennox against Bruno.”
Boxing fans were quick to comment on Whyte’s gloves, with one saying: “Dillian would be stylish.”
Another said: “Let’s GOOO.”
And another said: “I need a pair‼️”
One just said: “Beautiful.”
After years of waiting, Whyte fans will lock horns with former teammate Fury in front of a sold-out crowd at Wembley Stadium.
The Jamaican-born Briton is currently gearing up for the match in Portugal and has left little hope of winning the undisputed world title for the first time.
Whyte has remained silent on the radio since confirming the Battle of Britain and refused to attend a pre-fight press conference last month.
And the WBC heavyweight king Fury believes his former coaching partner has kept his mouth shut so he is not stressed further over his £31m split – money he would pocket around £6m .
He told Queensbury Promotions: “I told him on Instagram a few months ago that, every time you call me by a bad name, your percentage goes down.
“He didn’t call me many bad names after that. That’s why he was silent. He was silent when I told him that.”
“I think 20% for him is fairer. He can get it [£10million] if he hits me.
“That’s there compared to his last game when he got £250,000, which is a lot of money.
“That’s seven times as much as I have to fight Wladimir Klitschko.
“I was like ten times older than him on that stage, so he must be very grateful to me.
“If I were him, I’d send me gifts and things in the mail.
“I think he thinks people owe him something, I don’t know why or what he did thinking that way.
“We’ll find out in the night, he can’t run away in the ring.”
