Collier County stolen construction equipment has not been recovered, seek tips

COLLIER . COUNTY
The Collier County government has been regrouped with a stolen construction vehicle.
A John Deere terminal excavator of the Collier County Department of Growth Management was reported missing in a dump behind Palmetto Ridge High School.
The feeder is said to have been performed sometime between 3pm on Friday January 7 and 8am on Wednesday 12th January.
Collie County Sherrif’s Office Sgt. Dan Salls remembers seeing a similar excavator parked outside a home under construction in Golden Gate Estates Wednesday.
Later that afternoon, Sgt. Salls returns to the house under construction only to find the loader gone.
Sgt. Salls, with the help of Deputy Community Services Ginny Williams, tracked the trails from the construction site into a nearby wooded area until they placed the loaders deep in the woods.
The recovered vehicle was returned to the Collier County Department of Growth Management.
The investigation by the sheriff’s office continues.
