Collier County Community Shows Their Support for Chef Brian Roland’s Recovery

A community is now standing strong behind a celebrity chef who has left his mark. Chef Brian Roland, owner of Crave Culinaire, was serving an event at Ferrari Naples when he was seriously injured after being clamped under an elevator.

An event will be held on Wednesday night for the community to come together to support Roland. There was a Facebook post telling people about a candlelit vigil for Roland’s recovery in the parking lot of Lee Memorial.

The hashtag #bstrong has also gone viral on social media as a proof that many people care about him.

Roland remained in the hospital on Tuesday. He was put into a medically induced coma while he underwent several surgeries. The doctors are doing everything to save him and his friends say we can help.

“One of the things I learned from having medical problems was that the power of prayer works, and the more people pray for Brian, the better his prognosis. I’m sure of that,” said Kevin Takei, a friend of Roland.

Crave Culinaire is a well known name throughout Naples and Collier County.

“Working with Brian was great. He was like a kid,” but Takei said he recalls when he was the second chef hired by Roland. “Working with Brian is family; he treats us like family, and he loves us like a family.”

On Tuesday, Roland was in a critical but stable condition after Collier County deputies said he was sandwiched under a freight elevator during a party at Ferrari Naples on Saturday night.

“By the way, my phone exploded. From friends and family, colleagues and firefighters. People who know us. They’re asking about Brian,” Takei said.

“We all want to see him back on track, not only for what he does for the community but for his brand new family,” said Kevin Aizenshtat from Collier County. And that’s what everyone is praying for. “

Now, Takei and the people who knew Roland wanted the community to come closer together.

Jacqui Aizenshtat from Collier County said, “We encourage everyone to continue to pray for his recovery. And I just really felt in my heart that everything was going to be okay. “

OSHA has opened an investigation into what happened here in Ferrari Naples on Saturday night.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office says its detectives do not suspect anything criminal has happened. Collier County Community Shows Their Support for Chef Brian Roland’s Recovery
