College football live TV viewers are calling for referees to be suspended after the “worst call in history” during the Iowa State-Ohio game

College football fans were stunned after a controversial call late in the Iowa State-Ohio game led to a brutal loss.
Iowa State appeared to score after a field goal was made, but the officials ruled the free kick was no good and had fans proclaim it was the “worst shot in history.”
The Cyclone’s offense struggled against Ohio’s defense on Saturday, and with seven minutes left in the game, trailing 10-0, Iowa State opted to kick 37-yard FG instead of going for it on fourth down.
With Chase Contreraz’s 37-yard field goal, the team believed they had reduced their deficit to a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Contreraz’s kick appeared to hit the post in the broadcast and the goal post in the replay, but the referees ruled the ball wide to the right.
College football viewers quickly took to social media to voice their thoughts, with many having differing opinions.

One said: “Nah, these refs need to be suspended, have eye exams and watch kicks for two weeks.”
Another: “Every referee on the field needs to be fired. That’s ridiculous.”
A third thought it was the right decision: “No, it was outside the goal post. This angle is from behind the goal and the post is clearly between the ball and the camera. FG is not good.”
A fourth joked: “The refs had Ohio Money Line.”

And a five said: “I think we should offer these referees some glasses. That definitely worked.”
The Cyclones scored a touchdown on their next drive to increase Ohio’s lead to three, but ultimately lost 10-7.
