Cold Temperatures on the Road – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Yesterday was the beginning of a new era at KDKA, especially in the weather department.
We’ve started a new initiative that’s more focused on what matters most to you when it comes to the weather. We’re rebranding First Alert Weather.
So what does that mean for you? It means we will still bring you the most accurate forecast possible. A forecast will highlight the biggest weather stories and make sure we’ll let you know what we know when we know.
We’ll emphasize words like storm warnings and impact weather heading our way. When hazardous weather affects you, we’ll take action to make sure you’re up-to-date on what’s going on.
We’ll find the issues that affect you the most and break them all down for you. Finally, we will make sure that you are aware of the latest forecast, especially when it comes to systems that have been around for a few days and caused some uncertainty for us.
This weekend’s East Coast storm was a perfect example of the weather, we’ll make sure you know it probably won’t affect us here.
So today we have two things that I want to warn you about. The first arrives tonight and operates around Thursday morning as the cold weather turns.
I’m currently at Pittsburgh above 0º both days but wind chill could be around -15º. It will be very cold.
The second (potential) day of action is on Friday with about 1 inch of snow.
Friday’s total snow could increase so we’ll keep you updated on that.
For the rest of today, temperatures are expected to be around 20 degrees to 8pm, after which temperatures will drop overnight.
There will be some blizzard here or there throughout the day thanks to the lake snow effect.
