Who is eligible for SNAP?
SNAP, formerly known as Grocery Stamps, helps low-income people buy nutritious groceries.
To receive SNAP benefits, your household must meet certain conditions and requirements. A household includes all the people who live with you, shop together and prepare food together.
Households must also comply with the resource limit.
Resources are things you own, e.g. B. Cash or money in a bank account.
Currently, households can have $2,250 or $3,500 in resources if at least one person is 60 years of age or older or disabled.
If you are between the ages of 18 and 49 and able to work but are currently unemployed and without dependents, you may only be eligible for SNAP benefits for three months in any three year period.
