Cops have warned that cocaine-fueled hooliganism is on the rise and were behind the ugly scenes at Wembley Stadium ahead of England’s EURO final against Italy.

Last night Boris Johnson said: “Middle class cokeheads should stop kidding themselves, their habit is fueling a war on our streets fueling misery and crime in our country and beyond.

“That’s why we’re stepping up our efforts to ensure those who break the law face the full consequences – because illicit drug use is never a victimless crime.”

A Sun investigation last year found traces of cocaine in the toilets of major Premier League grounds including Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Our reporter was even offered some ‘Charlie’ outside the Amex Stadium in Brighton.

The new powers will be introduced through football ban orders and will apply to the new 2022/2023 season.

Judges have the power to issue orders on those convicted of violence, disruption and racist or homophobic chanting, and have recently been expanded to cover online hate crimes.

Police Minister Kit Malthouse said: “It’s been an exciting football season but we’ve seen ugly violence at a number of games that has shocked all leagues.

“Increasingly, police are finding Class A drugs at the heart of this disorder and that is why we must act.

The football family wants every pitch to be a safe place for fans, especially children, and we want that too.

“Football ban orders have been a game changer in eradicating racism and violence in football and now we want them to do the same for drug-related disorders.

“The government is committed to curbing drug use and making it clear to those who use it that drugs have consequences.”
