‘Cobra Kai’ Season 4: Terry Silver Return EPs Preview

It remains to be seen whether Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso’s new partnership can defeat the nefarious John Kreese. But with Cobra KaiWith his key villain supported by himself, the road to victory will be harder than ever.

During last year’s Season 3 finale, Kreese phoned an ominous colleague from his past, whom we now know is none other than Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith), an old friend from his military days, who became one of Cobra Kai’s original co-founders. In the upcoming fourth season (all 10 episodes will premiere on Netflix on Friday, December 31st), Daniel’s old nemesis will return to the dojo to create a whole new set of problems for the Miyagi dojo. -Do and Eagle Fang have merged.

The last time we saw Silver in The Karate Kid Part III, he hatches a plan to help Kreese get his revenge on LaRusso, tricking Daniel-san into training with him so he can make the teenager lose to Mike Barnes in the All Valley Karate Tournament. The plan ultimately failed, and Daniel won. But with Silver returning after all these years, Kreese’s grip on the Valley’s karate obsession will only grow stronger, as the battle to win the next tournament rages on.

“Terry is a flamboyant character who sticks to the work of Cobra Kai and what that dojo stands for,” executive producer and host Josh Heald told TVLine. “There are some really deep, interesting and complex scenes happening in Season 4 between Kreese and Silver as we explore Cobra Kai currently in this world where the All Valley tournament is about to take place. The stakes have never been higher.”

At first, Terry wasn’t too keen on reusing Kreese’s credo, but it didn’t take long for his past attached to his former teammate to weigh on him, as he slowly changed his mind. decision to rejoin the dojo.

“No one knows what Cobra Kai is capable of more than Terry Silver,” Heald continued, “but these two men hadn’t worked together in years, and the last time they worked together in Karate Kid III, it went very poorly. There are so many hurdles to overcome, so much history to be reevaluated, and so many beliefs to be re-established to bring Cobra Kai to the same page. To expect that it will be smooth sailing would be naive. ”

Cobra Kai Season 4 Terry SilverGriffith, who turned her attention to writing (with credits including Grimm and Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings), hasn’t acted in drama since 2007 Kidnap. Despite that, he’s “excited to participate” in this iteration of karate boy franchise, said executive producer and co-showrunner Jon Hurwitz.

Karate boy was a memorable and pivotal moment in his career. Part 3 was his first film and he had a big role in it, so it was a unique experience and something he’s identified with over the years,” he said. “He’s seen the stuff we’ve done with characters in the past (like Johnny Lawrence and Sensei Kreese), and how we’ve given them three dimensions and all sorts of depth. Our first discussions with him were no different, running through our plans for how to get the Terry Silver we saw. Karate Kid III – a billionaire laughs maniacally as he terrorizes a teenager and an old man – and to make sense of that, explain the past, dig deeper into the character to understand him better, and then take him forward.

“He was itching to act there and he got on board, and you would never guess that this guy hasn’t acted in a while because he’s the ultimate pro in every sense. of the word,” Hurwitz adds. “We can’t wait to see what’s in store with Terry Silver and Thomas’ performances on December 31st.”
