CNN President Jeff Zucker abruptly resigned after nine years at the media company after admitting to a consensual relationship with a colleague.
Zucker said he admitted to the relationship when asked about it as part of an investigation into Chris Cuomo, a former CNN broadcaster who was fired after it was discovered he had assisted assist his brother, then-Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, as he navigates a sexual harassment investigation.
“I was asked to reveal it when it started but I didn’t,” Zucker wrote. “I’m wrong.”
In a statement, Zucker said he wished his term had ended differently but, “it’s been an incredible run. And I fell in love with every minute.”
Jeff Zucker was appointed President, WarnerMedia News and Sports in March 2019. He has also been President of CNN Worldwide since 2013.
Zucker oversees all of WarnerMedia’s live programming, including all divisions of CNN Worldwide and Turner Sports. At CNN, including the US television network, CNN International, HLN and CNN digital properties. His sports portfolio includes Turner Sports and Bleacher Report.
