CNN’s Don Lemon interrupts co-host Kaitlan Collins at an awkward moment amid rumors of rising tensions on the show This Morning

A BITTER exchange between CNN co-hosts Don Lemon and Kaitlan Collins has resurfaced amid rumors of rising tensions on the new morning show.

The December clip in question shows Lemon delivering a report on the details of Britney Griner’s release from a Russian prison.

When Collins tried to intervene, Lemon continued to talk over her, ignoring her remarks.

In a second segment, Lemon seems even more irritated when Collins begins to speak. He holds up his finger and tells her to “wait a second.”

Allegedly, the on-air scuffle was insignificant compared to the drama that unfolded after the cameras turned away.

“Don yelled at Kaitlan, who was visibly upset and ran out of the studio,” a close source told the New York Post.

Another source suggested a producer pulled Lemon aside and told the frustrated host to take the next day off to “cool off.”

The former primetime presenter might not be keen on sharing the spotlight with a more inexperienced reporter like Collins.

“Don has a stubborn ego,” noted another source close to Lemon. “To my knowledge, he wants the show to be about him. I don’t know how to fix this. It’s a very difficult situation.”

Collins has been included in CNN’s new morning show after rising to stardom as a respected White House correspondent under the Trump administration.

Sources familiar with the crew’s dynamic have indicated that they are still adjusting to the different position.

A CNN representative told The US Sun that initial reports of the incident were exaggerated.

“The Post Office account is completely over the top and two months old. Don, Kaitlan and Poppy were friends before they became co-hosts and they remain so today,” the CNN spokesman said.

Unfortunately, the co-star controversy comes at the cost of CNN This Morning’s ratings plummeting below that of the show’s predecessor, New Day. The show’s underperforming could put even more pressure on the cast and crew.

Meanwhile, Collins and Lemon appear to have taken some time off.

Lemon was recently hired to cover the death of Tire Nichols in Memphis. His colleague Collins has stayed in Washington, DC and is working remotely.

Starting a new program with multiple presenters and different TV personalities is not an easy task, even for experienced TV broadcasters.
