Clever Sandstorm trick makes Pokémon Typhlosion raid easy – find out how

POKÉMON Scarlet & Violet will have a new seven-star raid guide starting this week.
Typhlosion is the latest target to appear as the first starter from Pokémon Gold and Silver.

It is the third and final starter from Pokémon Legends: Arceus to appear in consecutive raids.
Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming seven-star Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Typhlosion raid.
Pokémon SV: Typhlosion Raid Guide
Luckily for us, Typhlosion is a Fire-type Pokémon with a fairly shallow move pool that consists mostly of Fire-type moves.
It will have a Ghost Tera type, so we can safely assume it will come with Shadow Ball.
We think it will run Sunny Day to boost its Fire-type attacks and will mainly use Special Attacks.
It will also have Flash Fire, meaning it cannot be hit by Fire-type attacks.
Here’s the set we predict for Typhlosion:
The Unrivaled Typhlosion – Level 100
- Nature – mischievous
- Capability – flash fire
- Article – none
- Tera Type – Spirit
- Potential Moveset – Shadow Ball, Sunny Day, Overheating, Wisp, Focus Blast, Calm Mind, Solar Beam, Play Rough
Pokémon SV: Typhlosion Counter
Pokemon that can resist burns and still do great damage.
Here are the Pokemon we recommend.
Money
Coalossal can also have the Flashfire ability, meaning it resists and can be charged by all Fire-type attacks.
It can also learn Sandstorm to turn off the sun, and when fighting with others it can use Fire-type attacks to boost your power.
Coalossal is basically unkillable, especially with Mud-Slap to reduce accuracy, but it can have lower attack power than others.
Here is the set we recommend:
Coal Salt – Level 100
- Nature – Cautious
- Capability – flash fire
- Article – shell bell
- Tera Type – Dark
- Potential Moveset – Sandstorm, Mud Smash, Tera Blast, Stone Edge
Chi Yu
His Beads of Ruin ability is particularly strong in single attacks and lowers Typhlosion’s Special Defense by 25%.
It has incredible Special Defense and Attack, outperforms Typhlosion and resists Burn.
Light Screen will keep you sane, while Nasty Plot and Dark Pulse can help deal damage.
Chi Yu – Level 100
- Nature – Quiet
- Capability – pearls of ruin
- Article – shell bell
- Tera Type – Dark
- Potential Moveset – Evil plot, dark pulse, bright screen, growl
roaring moon
Sunny Day will help bolster Roaring Moon’s attack, making it even more threatening to Typhlosion.
The replacement prevents Roaring Moon from being burned, halving his attack.
It has a set of very powerful Dark-type attacks that it can use to shoot back. Our only caveat is when Typhlosion has play rough, which KOs him instantly.
We recommend the following:
Roaring Moon – Level 100
- Nature – Cautious
- Capability – protosynthesis
- Article – shell bell
- Tera Type – Dark
- Potential Moveset – Dragon Dance, Night Slash, Spare, Growl
pelipper
Pelipper’s Drizzle negates Sunny Day and weakens Typhlosion’s Fire-type attacks.
It can support others with Helping Hand and stay sane with Stockpile.
Pelipper doesn’t have strong moves against Typhlosion, but would make a strong support set.
We recommend the following:
Pelipper – level 100
- Nature – Quiet
- Capability – drizzle
- Article – wet rock
- Tera Type – Dark
- Potential Moveset – Tera Blast, Supply, Helping Hand, Hurricane
