Hulu’s star-studded adaptation of Fleishman is in trouble just added another star: Claire Danes will join Jesse Eisenberg and Lizzy Caplan in the upcoming limited seriesour sister site Limit line report.
Based on the best-selling novel by Taffy Brodesser-Akner, Fleishman is in trouble revolves around recently divorced doctor Toby Fleishman, played by Eisenberg, who finds unexpected success in the world of app-driven dating. But then his ex-wife Rachel goes missing, and finding her forces him to confront what went wrong in their marriage in the first place.
Danes will play Rachel, Toby’s ex-wife, a successful talent agent, with Caplan playing Toby’s friend Libby who serves as the narrator. Brodesser-Akner will also write and executive produce the film adaptation, which was first announced in 2019. (The series is officially an FX production but will stream on Hulu.)
Danes recently wrapped up eight seasons as Carrie Mathison in the Showtime spy thriller Countrysidea role that earned her a pair of Emmys for Best Actress in a Drama Series in 2012 and 2013. (She first appeared as cranky teenager Angela Chase in the TV series. short ABC picture My so-called life.) She is also set to star in the upcoming Apple TV series + The Essex Snake.
