Cindy, who is survived by her two children, Zak and Emily Hudson, died after a short illness.

In a statement released by their family spokesperson, Liza Cranis, Cindy’s children said: “The death of our kind, hilarious mother Cindy Williams has brought us an insurmountable sadness that could never truly be expressed.

“Knowing and loving her has been our joy and privilege. She was unique, beautiful, generous and possessed a brilliant sense of humor and sparkling spirit that everyone loved.”

Laverne & Shirley ran on ABC from 1976 to 1983 and was one of the most popular series on television in its heyday.

Cindy’s death comes approximately five years after the death of her co-star Penny Marshall, who played Laverne, on December 17, 2018.

Penny also died at the age of 75 and her cause of death was determined to be the result of complications from diabetes.
