The Addams . family the movie was Based on the 1960s TV show, based on an animated film, follows the exploits of a gothic family of lovable weirdos.

The youngest member of the family and the only daughter of Gomez (Raul Julia) and Morticia (Anjelica Huston), Wednesday and her brother Pugsley (Jimmy Workman) spent most of the first film bonding with an impersonator who is their uncle Fester (Christopher Lloyd). Reviews for the film were mixed, but Ricci’s performance was generally considered a highlight. “Best is the scene-stealing Christina Ricci, who plays Wednesday with the adorable open-minded, disc-shaped eyes of a demon child from Neptune,” wrote Entertainment Weekly Reviewer. “Beneath her braids, Wednesdays are every bit of her mother’s daughter – just where Morticia likes to receive pain, Wednesdays like to give.”

The second film once again saw the family deal with another threatening outsider – a serial killer named Debbie Jellinsky (Joan Cusack) – as well as a new born baby, Pubert. It also took Wednesday and Pugsley to a summer camp, where Wednesday was cast as Pocahontas in a Thanksgiving play, punished for disobedience, led a full-blown coup, and found a boyfriend her first. “The ensemble cast is superb, with young Ricci bringing depth to her character far beyond her years,” said Variety in their review of the second film.
