British boxing is BIG time again as Chris Eubank Jr meets Conor Benn in a match that will bring back memories of the 1990’s.

In 1990 and 1993, Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn fought two brutal world title fights.

Eubank Sr won the first via TKO in the 9th round, clinching the WBO middleweight title in the process, but the second fight, which was at super middleweight, ended in a tie.

Now, 29 years later, their sons will meet.

Eubank Jr., a middleweight who also fought at 168 pounds, will hit his all-time low of 156 pounds to challenge Benn – a career welterweight.

It was a fight that first floated into the airwaves after Eubank Jr. defeated Liam Williams earlier this year.

No one took the idea seriously, save for Benn, who at 147 pounds was struggling to find a competitive fight.

When does Eubank Jr play Benn?

• Eubank Jr.’s massive clash with Benn takes place on Saturday. October 8, 2022.
• The fight takes place at the O2 Arena in front of 18,000 fans.
• Both men will meet 29 years later almost to the day of Eubank Sr vs Benn 2 on October 9, 1993 at Old Trafford.
• Ringwalks for the Main Event are expected to begin around 10pm UK time.

Both fighters look forward to staging a showdown that will turn back the years for many boxing fans.

Eubank Jr. said, “I grew up watching their legendary battles and always wanted to emulate that and find my own nemesis… now could that be Conor Benn? We’ll find out.

“He went the same way as me. I know his struggle. Living in the shadow of a legend and trying to break out of that shadow and make a name for yourself. If he can beat me, his name will be made, and he’ll never walk in his father’s shadow again.

“It’s a fight that will capture the imagination of the British public and I’m delighted about that. In terms of anticipation, legacy and hype, it’s the biggest fight of my career.”
