China faces 4.2million Covid cases and 5,000 deaths a DAY in a ‘thermonuclear’ surge as crematoria burn 24 hours a day

CHINA faces 4.2 million new cases and 5000 deaths daily as ‘thermonuclear’ Covid surge sweeps the country.

Crematoria are already reportedly working around the clock to cope with the mounting death toll, while huge lines of hearses line the streets.

Now new figures predict the situation will worsen in the coming days after China abandoned its zero-Covid strategy with hard lockdowns.

China is now preparing to spread the virus in a population with catastrophically low immunity and vaccination levels.

Daily cases could reach 3.7 million a day in January and 4.2 million in March, up from the current level of 1 million, according to health data analyst Airfinity.

They estimate that there are already 5,000 deaths a day in China, as opposed to the 7 officially admitted by the government.

Airfinity says the current outbreak is growing faster in the capital Beijing and southern Guangdong province.

“China has stopped mass testing and is no longer reporting asymptomatic cases,” said Dr. Louise Blair, director of vaccines and epidemiology at Airfinity.

“The combination means official data is unlikely to truly reflect the outbreak across the country.

“China has also changed the way it records deaths from Covid-19 to only include those who die of respiratory failure or pneumonia after testing positive.

“This differs from other countries where deaths are recorded within a time frame after a positive test or where Covid-19 is given as the cause of death.

“This change could downplay the scale of deaths in China.”

Airfinity has also predicted that China could ultimately see 2.1 million Covid deaths.

In a single day this week, nearly 37 million people in China could have been infected with Covid-19, reports Bloomberg, citing China’s National Health Commission.

Around 248 million people, almost 18 percent of the population, are believed to have contracted the virus in the first 20 days of December.

A hospital in Shanghai has told its staff to prepare for a “tragic battle” as half of the city’s 25 million residents are expected to become infected by the end of the week.

“This year’s Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day and Lunar New Year are destined to be uncertain,” said the private Shanghai Deji Hospital, which employs about 400 people.

“In this tragic battle, the entire Shanghai metropolitan area will fall, and we will infect all the hospital staff! We will infect the whole family.”

Meanwhile in Beijing, a long line of cars and hearses were seen outside a crematorium that operates 24 hours a day.

Smoke was constantly seen coming from a crematorium that was forced to use shipping containers to store bodies in the parking lot, according to CNN.

More coffins were loaded into the containers as people reported hours of waiting for loved ones to be cremated.

China’s vaccination coverage is over 90 percent, but the rate for adults who have received booster shots drops to 57.9 percent and for those aged 80 and over to 42.3 percent.

The draconian zero-Covid policy saw the population being forced to undergo constant testing for the coronavirus, and millions were placed in lockdown even if only a small number of people tested positive.

Horror images showed those infected being taken to quarantine camps and even welded into their homes by brutal “Big White” enforcers.

But a wave of protests following a fire in which the deaths of 10 people were blamed on the tough lockdown saw Xi drop “zero Covid” dramatically.
