Niemann, 19, has admitted to cheating twice online but has denied cheating in a tournament with prize money.

Niemann, 19, is facing claims he has cheated in more than 100 chess games and used a vibrating sex toy up his butt to receive messages from his coach.

After winning his match in the first round of the US Championships, he was asked about the “elephant in the room” – a reference to the cheating scandal that has gripped the chess world.

Niemann replied: “I think this game is a message to everyone. It all started with me saying that chess speaks for itself and I think this game spoke for itself and showed the chess player what I am.

“You can leave it to your own interpretation, but thanks, that’s it.”

This week, website Chess.com published an investigation claiming it was “probable” that US star Niemann had cheated in more than 100 games online.

He had already been accused of cheating by world champion Magnus Carlsen after beating the 31-year-old Norwegian in a huge upset.

Niemann has admitted to cheating twice online with computer assistance, aged 12 and 16, but has ever “obviously” denied it.

He even said he was willing to play naked to prove his innocence.
Chess.com noted “many notable signals and unusual patterns in Hans’ path as a player.”

It was also revealed that he was banned from the site after allegedly confessing.

Niemann has denied “cheating in a tournament with prize money”.
