CHELTENHAM Festival Trails Day is here – and it’s looking like an absolute smash hit.

There are a whopping NINE races on the map, including the rearranged Clarence House Chase.

It is also the last meeting at the track before the festival in March.

Ed Chamberlin and co will be hosting the live action on the ITV main channel from 1.15pm to 4pm.

The opening show – which will be extended throughout the festival week – takes place on Saturday morning from 9.30am to 10.30am.

Champion Chase heroes Energumene and Edwardstone compete at 1:20 p.m. in the rearranged Clarence House Chase.

While Gold Cup hopes Protectorate and Noble Yeats take on the Cotswold Chase at 2.25pm.

There is still a forecast of temperatures approaching zero at Cheltenham racecourse.

Course leader Jon Pullin said they plan to deploy the freeze covers on Thursday.
