The eviction could benefit Chelsea, who have been linked with Dembele as they try to mend their backfire attack.

Thomas Tuchel’s men go into their last game of the season against Watford 19 points behind leaders Manchester City.

Their lack of goals is credited as one of the main reasons their bid for the title fell through.

But now the door has been left open for them to hunt down their target Dembele as Xavi confirmed his future was far from certain.

The 25-year-old’s contract expires this summer, after which he would be available on a free transfer.

Corresponding Get football news Spainthe Barcelona coach said of Dembele: “It could be his last game but it could also be the last game for others. I like him and he can help us in the future. It depends on the negotiations.”

Dembele would likely be a popular signing for Chelsea fans, with the Frenchman once being the second most expensive signing ever after Barcelona suspended his signature in 2017.

But he hasn’t lived up to expectations, scoring just one goal in 20 La Liga games this season.

Dembele was reportedly supposed to accept a pay cut and a new deal last month but no agreement was reached.

Tuchel hopes Dembele can add some menace to the Blues’ attack as Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner are yet to score big goals.

Dembele could be one of many who will leave the Catalan giants this summer.

sports journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Riqui Puig, Samuel Umtiti, Oscar Minqueza and Martin Braithwaite could also be on the way.

In terms of arrivals, Barcelona are eyeing Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski after he announced his intention to move.
